Staff and Students both past and present are fed up with our schools’ being slurred unfairly on the internet. Now is the time for the silent majority to speak.
About this Site
Welcome to Sabisspeaks. This site is an open forum in which anyone may participate. The comments section is open to all, whether you have a question about Choueifat, a story regarding your experience and also gives an opportunity for any of the thousands of past pupils and staff to share their memories and experiences. I know that these experiences are both positve and negative which this blog will hopefully show.
As the internet is relativley unregulated people are free to post pretty much what they like, with impunity . Other SABIS sites encourage anonymity and generalisations but here you will see the real names of real people.
We are not professional bloggers, unlike others out there. We have worked with the organisation described elsewhere on the net in derogatory terms, for a number of years, and have had positive and negative experiences (as we all do in every aspect of our lives) . We are part of students, staff and parents, both past and present that totals in excess of about 40,000 students, 80,000 parents and who knows how many staff .
We owe SABIS nothing but we have chosen to work for them. We have been paid fairly. Treated fairly and learnt a lot. This is not the point, this site is not for SABIS but for those of us students (some who are from families where 3 generations have attended these schools) and staff who along life’s journey have stopped off and educated or been educated by SABIS. This is for you.
You can contribute to the site by providing information or a testimonial about your experience with SABIS, please feel free to contact us (hopefully an us soon as I really dont have time for this) by submitting comments / articles to sabisspeaks@gmail.com.

i graduated from choueifat last year, my two older brothers graduated from choueifat before that, my younger sister is now in grade 8, there is hardly a part of my (big) family who doesnt have 1, 2 or 3 sons or daughters in choueifat AND WE ARE ALL DAMN PROUD OF THAT.

I enjoyed going to a SABIS school (5th grade – Graduation), growing and maturing over the years, making friends for life time! Meeting teachers who still care to write once in a while to see what I am up to.
Getting to know cultures and people from all over the world broaded my understanding of living a truley international life.
In my 8th grade class I actually met the girl, who later became my wife after college.
There are always good and bad memories you make over the years, but as long as the good exceed the bad, people have done somehting right! and that is the case with SABIS.
Sabis schools are wonderful and I hope that one day we will have the possibility to give our children this opportunity to grow up and be educated in such a great international school.

I worked at a SABIS School in the Emirates for 3 years, and i would like to just say a few things regarding my stay there.
1. I was treated like a part of the school from day 1
2. I learnt alot as a teacher
3. My students were just excellent and i had a good relation with them
4. The SABIS system in my point of view is an excellent educational system for Staff and students.
Just wanted to Thanks the whole SABIS team for making my stay in the Emirates a great experience

School used to end at 4 pm everyday in the Emirates. I went to school at the International school of choueifat – Abu Dhabi for 8 years, graduated from there. I can say that even though we worked out asses off, even though we had exams every week, homework all the time , it was all for our good. I realized this once i went to University in Boston. I had a GPA of 3.76 in freshman year , because of SABIS. Everything i was taught in university freshman year, i had taken it in grade 10 in Choueifat.
While my other friends were getting 2 point something GPA’s HAHAHA .

My Name is Dr. Rana El Farra. I’ve been working in ISC-Cairo for two years. Soon, I will be joining The SABIS Teacher’s College-Erbil. I still remember that one morning when my friend, Hanan Najim, woke me up asking me about my C.V. and telling me that we are applying for a job at Choueifat. My first response was: what is Choueifat??!! Few months later, I began to realize that this is the place where I will reach my highest potentials. This is the place where I will learn to be professional and effective. Choueifat offered my daughter
(Salma) a chance to reach the stars. She is now in grade three and her name never left the honors list. Choueifat was not just a job or a school for us, Choueifat became OUR HOME.. We are both looking forward to many fruitful years to come. This is the school that recognizes your hard work and makes sure that you are well rewarded for it. Both my daughter and I are proud to be here.
